Sally C. Tseng Professional Development Grant

About this program

The Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) administers the Sally C. Tseng Professional Development Grant, providing US$1,000 annually to support research and program-related activities in library and information science, such as publishing papers or presenting at professional conferences. Applicants must be CALA members in good standing and demonstrate commitment to advancing their professional status through activities with recognized library organizations; preference is given to first-time recipients, and previous awardees must wait five years before reapplying. Required application materials include a cover letter (up to 350 words), budget, timetable, three reference letters, and CV/resume, submitted as a single electronic package via email to the program Co-Chairs. Successful applicants are notified in May prior to the ALA Annual Conference, receive the award at the CALA Awards Banquet, and must submit a written report before the following year's conference.
