Schmidt Science Fellows — Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellowship

About this program

Schmidt Science Fellows, an initiative of Schmidt Sciences delivered in partnership with the Rhodes Trust, funds a postdoctoral fellowship that enables outstanding early-career researchers to pivot from their PhD discipline into bold interdisciplinary research through funded Placements, a lifelong community, one-to-one mentoring from an Academic Council, and a bespoke Science Leadership Program. The program also supports sector-wide change through initiatives such as a Catalyst Grant Scheme and Interdisciplinary Science Rankings to accelerate collaboration and dismantle barriers to interdisciplinary research. Applicants are emerging scientists who have completed a PhD and propose a postdoctoral Placement in a world‑class research environment; selection targets exceptional candidates with demonstrated potential to become interdisciplinary science leaders.
