Scholar Project on Healthcare Disparities

About this program

The CNS Foundation offers up to $5,000 for a one-year U.S.-based project examining the presence or causes of healthcare disparities in neurosurgery and generating data to advance equity and inclusion. Funds may support direct project expenses, including testing protocols, staff, tools, and technology. Applicants must be CNS members in good standing and U.S.-based neurosurgical residents or practicing neurosurgeons able to complete the project during the upcoming academic year. Applications require a recommendation letter, change-focused thesis, supporting evidence, and proposed budget; selected awardees must present findings at the CNS Annual Meeting and submit follow-up reports and career-impact statements.
