About this program

The Andy Hill CARE Fund, administered by the Washington Cancer Impact Foundation, offers the Scientific Discoveries Research grant to support innovative cancer researchers and teams conducting basic, discovery, or validation‑phase studies to advance cancer prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes/quality of life. Supported projects include mechanistic studies, validation of novel interventions, technology or therapy development, proof‑of‑concept work, and early translational efforts toward commercialization; population‑based research on biological, behavioral, environmental, social, and structural determinants of cancer is encouraged. Applicants at all career levels are eligible, but proposals must state a clear hypothesis and specific aims; projects solely collecting data to document disparities or solely providing/expanding services are ineligible, and clinic/implementation‑phase work is generally outside the program’s scope.
