About this program

The National Scleroderma Foundation funds peer‑reviewed research grants to support basic, translational, and clinical studies that seek to discover causes, understand mechanisms, and improve treatment of scleroderma, with variable award amounts and current annual research investment exceeding $1.5 million (over $33 million committed historically). Awards are administered by the Foundation’s Board and guided by an international Peer Research Review Committee of scleroderma experts who read, critique, and rank all applications. Applicants must submit competitive research proposals focused on scleroderma (from laboratories or clinical programs), with funding decisions based on scientific merit as determined by the peer review process.
