Select Summer Residency Program (June 1–June 26, 2026)

About this program

The National Humanities Center is offering a Select Summer Residency (June 1–26, 2026), a four-week funded program designed to help humanities scholars jump-start or make substantial progress on a current research project, providing individual studies, housing, meals, library procurement support, and weekly professional-development sessions. Eligibility is limited to scholars nominated by NHC Institutional Sponsor universities; nominees must be humanities scholars or working on humanities projects and have completed a PhD or the equivalent (or a terminal Master’s where that is standard). Selection is competitive beginning in 2026, and each institutional sponsor may nominate up to two faculty, with institutions encouraged to prioritize candidates (e.g., junior faculty nearing tenure, mid-career or senior researchers, or those returning to long-term projects).
