Sempre Lifetime Achievement Award

Sempre, the professional society for music research, offers the Sempre Lifetime Achievement Award to support a senior colleague to undertake or complete research of their choice, providing lifetime Sempre membership, an invitation to address a Sempre conference, and up to £2,000 to further the nominee’s research. The work may lead to presentation at a Sempre conference and/or submission to the Society’s journals (Psychology of Music, Music & Science, Research Studies in Music Education), and awards should normally be taken up within 12 months. Eligible nominees are senior colleagues who have made an outstanding contribution to the field and must be proposed and seconded by Sempre members in good standing; applications are judged on the nominee’s lifetime contribution. Proposals should be submitted by email to the Sempre Secretary (Professor Adam Ockelford), are considered by the Sempre Awards Panel (whose decision is final), and no specific deadline is stated.
