Senior Clinical Research Fellowships (Neurological Foundation)

About this program

The Neurological Foundation offers Senior Clinical Research Fellowships to provide personal salary support for practising clinicians to undertake clinical neurology research at New Zealand healthcare organisations. Fellowships fund salary equivalent to one year at the Fellow’s clinical salary plus salary‑associated costs, with the research FTE divisible across 1–5 years provided it is at least 20% per year; travel grants related to the fellowship can be sought after award (combined cap NZD 4,500), while institutional overheads, equipment, student fees, relocation and salaries already paid by the host institution are not funded. Eligible applicants are medically qualified practising clinicians in a neurological discipline with established independent research credentials; applications must be submitted through and signed off by the Host Institution, follow the Foundation’s twice‑yearly deadlines (18 March and 18 August), and will be assessed by external reviewers and the Foundation’s committees.
