Shenoy Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Neuroscience (SURFiN)

About this program

The Simons Foundation’s Autism & Neuroscience division sponsors the Shenoy Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Neuroscience (SURFiN), which provides funding for paid undergraduate research assistantships in Simons-supported laboratories in the U.S., Canada, and Europe to expand access to hands-on neuroscience research. Fellows receive direct in-person mentorship—typically from early-career scientists—participate in career-development activities such as a virtual coding boot camp and a scientific symposium in New York City, and conduct research during the academic year. Applicants must be undergraduate students who have had limited access to research opportunities, live near a Simons-supported lab, and be placed in a Simons-supported investigator’s laboratory per the program’s RFA.
