Simon and June Li Leadership Transformation Fellowship

About this program

The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) offers the Simon and June Li Leadership Transformation Fellowship to support AAPI journalists by covering the costs of executive and entrepreneurial leadership programs to accelerate media leadership and entrepreneurial development. Fellowships are awarded contingent on acceptance to eligible external programs (examples: Columbia Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program; CUNY Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership; Poynter’s Media Transformation Challenge) and are reviewed on a rolling basis until funds are filled. Eligible applicants are Asian American and Pacific Islander journalists who are rising newsroom/media leaders (ELP graduates and non‑graduates may apply). Fellows are encouraged to give back to AAJA through mentoring and service, and applications are submitted via AAJA’s online portal.
