Spotlight Award (Society of American Archivists Foundation)

About this program

Funded by the Society of American Archivists Foundation and established in 2005, the Spotlight Award recognizes individuals or small teams whose often-unheralded contributions advance the archives profession or care of archival collections. Recipients receive a certificate and complimentary registration to the SAA Annual Meeting; winners are selected by the Contributions to the Archives Profession Subcommittee of the SAA Awards Committee and nominations are due February 28 each year. Eligible nominees are an individual archivist or a collaborating group of up to five archivists, with preference given to those working in smaller repositories or without institutional support for professional activities. Selection favors contributions such as leading special projects, sustained committee or advocacy work, effective emergency response, innovative ideas, extraordinary volunteerism, or quiet but effective promotion of the profession.
