SSNCI Research Bursaries

About this program

The Society for the Study of Nineteenth‑Century Ireland (SSNCI) awards a small number of research bursaries of up to €350 each to support PhD students, early‑career researchers, and independent scholars undertaking research into nineteenth‑century Ireland; funds have no expenditure restrictions and are awarded each year until the available pot is exhausted. Applicants must be paid‑up SSNCI members and apply by emailing 19ireland@gmail.com with a description of the proposed research, a budget, and details of any other financial support. Applications are reviewed by an SSNCI committee panel and applicants are normally informed of outcomes within three to four weeks.
