About this program

Strategy Research Foundation (SRF) funds competitive grants to support scholarship in strategic management, distributing about $150,000–$200,000 annually across three programs: Will Mitchell Dissertation Research Grant (WMDRG) — up to $10,000 for doctoral dissertation research; Early Career Research Grant (ECRG) — up to $15,000 for early-career scholars; and Research in Strategic Management (RSM) — up to $25,000 for faculty projects (2025–2026 theme: "Growth in Focus: Strategy Across the Arc of Firm Evolution"). Grants are two‑year awards beginning the January after acceptance and are intended to supplement other funding. Eligible applicants are doctoral students (WMDRG), early-career strategy scholars (ECRG), and faculty in strategic management (RSM); applications are accepted July through October 1 with decisions in December. Proposals are evaluated on contribution to strategic management theory and practice, research design and methodological rigor, expected impact of SRF funding, and (for RSM) alignment with the rotating theme.
