Coefficient Giving launched the multi‑donor Strep A Vaccine Fund (May 2026) to accelerate development of Strep A vaccines with primary interest in preventing rheumatic heart disease (RHD) in low‑ and middle‑income countries, supporting work across the pipeline from early science through preparation for licensure and immediate RHD interventions. Funding priorities include preparing for and conducting Phase 1 and controlled human infection model (CHIM) trials, strengthening epidemiology, immunology and preclinical models/assays, developing next‑generation immunogens and delivery, and preparing for regulatory approval, policy recommendations and delivery; the fund intends to advance multiple candidates through early clinical development though no specific award amounts are listed.
