Student Research Grant Program (Division 50)

About this program

The Society of Addiction Psychology (APA Division 50) offers annual research grants to support addiction psychology research, including four Student Research Grants of up to $1,000 each (deadline May 1) and up to three Early Career Psychologist (ECP) Research Grants of up to $5,000 each (deadline September 30). Student grant funds must be devoted to active research and cannot be used for indirect costs or institutional overhead; ECP awards include a requirement to present findings at APA or the Collaborative Perspectives on Addiction meeting and come with waived registration plus up to $500 additional travel support. Eligibility: Student grants are for graduate students, while ECP applicants must be within 10 years of their doctorate and be a Member/Fellow/Associate or Professional Affiliate of SoAP. Federal funding for the same or similar project precludes SoAP support, and institutions may not automatically deduct fees from awarded funds without the grantee’s approval.
