About this program

Society of Addiction Psychology (APA Division 50) offers two research grant programs to support addiction psychology projects: four Student Research Grants of up to $1,000 each and up to three Early Career Psychologist (ECP) Research Grants of up to $5,000 each, with at least one ECP award prioritized for work advancing equity/social justice or serving marginalized communities. Student grants are reserved for graduate students and must be devoted to the active, Division‑50‑approved research project (no indirect costs or institutional overhead); deadline May 1. ECP applicants must be within 10 years of their doctorate and be a SoAP member/affiliate, federal funding for the same or similar project precludes funding, and ECP awardees are required to present findings at the APA or Collaborative Perspectives on Addiction meeting (registration waived and up to $500 travel support); deadline September 30.
