Teacher Development Grants

About this program

The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation offers Teacher Development Grants to small teams of K–12 teachers for designing and implementing innovative classroom instruction that improves student understanding and fosters lifelong learning. Awards are up to $10,000 per year to an individual applicant, with a maximum of $20,000 over two years, and funded projects must include assessment of student outcomes, reflective writing, and dissemination of results. Eligible applicants are licensed K–12 teachers employed in public or private schools; the application must be submitted in the name of one individual even if multiple teachers participate, and applicants must demonstrate the experience to complete the project and a willingness to collaborate with the Foundation. Applications are accepted online annually from January 15 to April 15 or until 200 submissions are reached (current season closed; reopens January 15, 2026), and awardees must submit an annual progress report.
