Teaching Fellowships (AAP Foundation) - Debt relief for early-career periodontal educators

About this program

American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Teaching Fellowships provide debt-relief support for early-career periodontal educators, awarding $25,000 total paid as $5,000 per year for five years, with payments made at the end of each year contingent on continued full-time teaching. Eligible applicants must be within their first three years of full-time teaching at an accredited U.S. dental school or have accepted a full-time faculty position to teach periodontology at a U.S. dental school. Past Teaching Fellows and past recipients of the Nevins, Tarrson, or Volpe Fellowships are ineligible to apply. Completed applications are due by June 1; finalists are required to attend a mandatory in-person interview at the AAP Annual Meeting at their own expense.
