About this program

The Tennessee Nurses Foundation (TNF) Nursing Research Grant Program funds project-based research by Tennessee-licensed registered nurses that advances nursing practice, promotes health, and prevents disease; award amounts are applicant-requested and allocated based on proposal quality, investigator promise, requested amount, number of awards, and available funds (Facilities & Administrative costs are not supported). The program supports novice and experienced nurse researchers across a wide range of topics and is reviewed twice yearly with submission deadlines on March 31 and September 30. Eligible applicants must hold a current Tennessee RN license, maintain continuous Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA) membership for at least one year prior to application, and must not have received TNF funding within the previous 12 months; current TNF/TNA Board members and their immediate family are ineligible. Applications must include an abstract, proposal narrative, appendices as needed, two letters of support (one from an experienced researcher), a detailed itemized budget, and IRB/animal protection approval if required; projects must be ready to begin and a final report is required upon completion.
