Texas History Program

About this program

The Summerlee Foundation’s Texas History Program offers grants of up to $10,000 for projects advancing Texas history through archaeology, archives, libraries, museums, education, preservation, media, publications, and scholarly research. Priority may be given to projects serving underserved cultural or geographic areas and demonstrating qualified expertise, community support, and—where applicable—National Register or Texas Historical Commission designation; monuments, memorials, and courthouse restoration are ineligible. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities or governmental units under IRS section 170(c)(1), and prospective applicants should contact Gary Smith before applying through the portal by March 6, 2027.
