The Corliss Knapp Engle Scholarship in Horticulture

About this program

The Garden Club of America awards the Corliss Knapp Engle Scholarship in Horticulture, providing one or more $3,000 scholarships annually to support research, documentation, teaching-skill development, or practical training in horticulture at accredited colleges, universities, or major botanic gardens/arboreta. Eligible projects include plant propagation, photographic documentation, acquisition of skills for working with horticulture collections, and broad horticultural research; recipients are chosen by the GCA Scholarship Committee with a Chestnut Hill Garden Club representative. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents actively enrolled at a U.S.-based accredited institution (undergraduate, graduate, advanced-degree, or non-degree above high school), may submit only one GCA scholarship/fellowship/award application per year, and applications must be received at GCA Headquarters by February 1 preceding the period of study.
