The Frederick and Florence Bauder Endowment for the Support of Physics Teaching (Bauder Fund)

The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) administers the Frederick and Florence Bauder Endowment to support special activities in physics teaching, offering small grants (commonly up to $2,500) for development and distribution of innovative teaching apparatus, traveling exhibits, local teacher workshops, and approved grant projects. Eligible costs include supplies for workshops and liability insurance; the fund expressly excludes indirect/administrative costs, salaries, travel, lodging, registration fees, food, or equipment normally available to a school or department. Only AAPT members may apply; proposals must fund expenses occurring after the next national meeting and are considered if received by July 1 (for Summer Meeting) or December 1 (for Winter Meeting). Funded activities are reimbursed against original receipts and require dissemination of results (e.g., talks or articles) plus a final report documenting participants and outcomes.
