The Garden Club of America Award in Coastal Wetlands Studies

About this program

The Garden Club of America, via the Rockefeller Environmental Education Fund, awards $5,000 annually to one or more graduate students conducting field-based coastal wetlands research (tidal or nontidal wetlands in coastal states, including the Great Lakes). Eligible applicants are U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are currently and actively enrolled in a U.S.-based graduate program in coastal wetlands science; international applicants are not eligible due to IRS restrictions. Only one GCA scholarship, fellowship, or award may be applied for annually; applications are reviewed by a panel appointed by the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and approved by the GCA Scholarship Committee, and must be received by January 10 (year to be confirmed).
