About this program

The Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History offers Theodor Kerzner Q.C. Research Grants to support scholarly research on any aspect of Canadian legal history, typically awarding up to CAD 3,000 per person to defray research expenses. Eligible applicants include university faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars; there is no formal application form—submit a project description, budget, and CV to the programme administrator (Amanda Campbell: amanda.campbell@osgoodesociety.ca). Requests are considered at the Society’s spring and September Board meetings (spring requests due March 31; September requests due August 31), granted funds must generally be expended in the same calendar year (September awards may be spent the same or the following year), and recipients must acknowledge the programme in any resulting publications.
