Theodore Calvin Pease Award (student archival writing award)

About this program

The Society of American Archivists Foundation funds the Theodore Calvin Pease Award to recognize superior student writing in archival studies, offering a $250 cash prize, a certificate, and publication of the winning manuscript in American Archivist after editorial review. Unpublished manuscripts of 5,000–8,000 words (with abstract) that follow American Archivist style are judged in a blind review on innovation, scholarship, pertinence, and clarity, with preference for papers addressing major trends and issues in the archives profession. Eligible entries must be written during the preceding calendar year by master's or doctoral archival studies students and submitted (title plus anonymized manuscript—no author/program/faculty names on the paper) by a faculty member or instructor (one submission per faculty member; nominations due February 28 annually).
