About this program

The Community Foundation of Noble County offers the Chester A. and Bessie C. Throp Scholarship, a $800-per-year award renewable for a second year (total $1,600) for one graduating East Noble High School senior who played a musical instrument in the East Noble High School Band to support tuition, books, and academic fees at any accredited college or university. Applicants should be graduating East Noble High School seniors (areas of study and applicant age not restricted); one scholarship is awarded annually. Apply via the CFNC Scholarship Apply Portal (GrantInterface): create/log in, take the eligibility quiz to be matched, complete matched scholarship application(s) and the 2027 CFNC Main Application (three essays, references, activities), and submit all required materials by January 14, 2027 at 11:00 PM; recipients must complete an acceptance form sent in early June to receive payment.
