UICC Technical Fellowships — international learning visits in cancer control (2 weeks to 2 months)

About this program

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) offers Technical Fellowships for cancer professionals to undertake 2-week to 2-month international learning visits to gain practical skills in cancer control; the 2026 call emphasizes public-health training in cost‑effective, evidence‑based strategies across prevention, early detection, equitable treatment, supportive/palliative care and implementation/translational/clinical research. Awards are calculated by UICC based on fellowship duration and published living-cost and economy flight estimates, and regional sub-programmes allow French-language fellowships for French-speaking African applicants and Spanish-language fellowships for Latin American applicants. Eligible applicants include public‑health professionals (e.g., epidemiologists, health educators, social workers, nutritionists, administrators), translational/clinical/implementation cancer researchers, clinicians, nurses and pathologists, who generally must hold a minimum Master’s degree (exceptions for qualified medical doctors near board certification, registered nurses, or equivalent one‑year post‑degree specialty training) and have at least five years’ experience in cancer control; medical and PhD students are not eligible. Applicants are normally expected to identify a host supervisor (UICC members receive help and UICC can assist applicants without a host via fellows@uicc.org); full application guidelines and timelines will be published when the 2026 call opens (April–June 2026) with results notified about three months after closing.
