The Media Ecology Association, with sponsorship from the Urban Communication Foundation, offers a $2,500 research grant for graduate student studies grounded in media ecology theory or philosophy and focused on cities, urban environments, communication, social interaction, technological mediation, or cultural change. Awardees receive MEA membership, annual convention registration, a dedicated convention session, and potential publication in Explorations in Media Ecology. Applicants must be graduate students enrolled in degree programs and active MEA members, and must submit a 100-word abstract, one-page study description, and faculty letter of support by March 31, 2027.
