Wiley Housewright Dissertation Award

The Society for American Music’s Wiley Housewright Dissertation Award honors a single dissertation in English on American music—broadly defined to include historical and contemporary art and popular musics, ethnic/minority musics across North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and diasporic contexts—for exceptional depth, clarity, significance, and contribution; the winner receives a monetary prize and a citation presented at the Society’s national conference (specific amount not listed).
