Will Mitchell Dissertation Research Grant Program

About this program

The Strategy Research Foundation of the Strategic Management Society offers Will Mitchell Dissertation Research Grants of up to US$10,000 to support direct research and data-collection expenses for doctoral dissertations in strategic management. Funds may supplement other support and are available for activities that enhance the project, with a two-year grant period beginning January 1, 2027; applications are due October 1, 2026. Applicants must be full-time students in a strategic management research doctoral program at an accredited institution, have completed at least half of their program requirements, and propose research that has not yet been undertaken. Previous WMDRG recipients are ineligible, and institutional overhead, stipends, tuition, equipment, and most conference expenses are excluded.
