About this program

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s Williamstown Elementary School Endowment Fund awards grants (generally $250–$4,000, with occasional higher awards and multi‑year support up to three years) to finance exceptional educational initiatives that enrich Williamstown Elementary students beyond the core curriculum, including curriculum-augmenting programs, extracurriculars, independent projects, visiting artists/speakers, equipment, and field trips. Eligible applicants include students, teachers, administrators, parents, nonprofits and community members; the Fund primarily covers direct project costs (not salaries/stipends) and favors projects that leverage volunteer effort, additional support, broad impact, and lasting connections to school offerings, with priority for student‑focused activities. Applicants requesting equipment must justify why it is not covered by the school budget, are asked to discuss proposals with Benjamin Torres before applying, and successful grantees must submit an evaluation and photos/video within three months of project completion; applications are due by October 15, 2026.
