About this program

Xero Shoes offers the Minimal Footwear Research Grant to support human research on the effects of minimalist footwear on biomechanics, performance, injury, and physical activity across different life stages. The grant provides $10,000 for a 24-month term, with one award given annually. Eligibility is limited to ACSM national members in good standing, including international applicants, who are either doctoral students enrolled full-time or early career researchers within two years of completing their postgraduate degree or clinical training. Grantees must attend the ACSM Annual Meeting Honors event, present their research at an ACSM meeting, and share publications or presentations with the ACSM Foundation.
