XPRIZE Coral Reef Regeneration and Resilience Prize

About this program

The XPRIZE Foundation, in partnership with the Government of Barbados, is offering a four-year, $30 million global competition to accelerate innovative approaches for regenerating coral ecosystems and improving their climate resilience. Competitors will develop and deploy three hectares of climate-resilient coral with ecological function, using autonomous and cost-efficient methods. Entries will be evaluated on coral survival, biodiversity, ecosystem services, community and economic benefits, and coastal resilience, with emphasis on hybrid or assisted-evolution approaches. XPRIZE is also seeking philanthropists, foundations, corporate sponsors, and field-testing partners to support the prize and its operations.
