Young Investigator Awards

About this program

The American College of Cardiology (ACC), supported by the Douglas P. Zipes, MD, MACC Endowment Fund, invites early-career investigators to compete in the Young Investigator Awards at ACC.27, where 15 finalists will present research in Basic & Translational Science, Clinical Investigations, and Outcomes Research. Monetary awards include $2,000 for each category winner, $1,000 for runners-up, three $500 honorable mentions per category, and up to $1,500 reimbursement for each finalist to attend the competition. Eligible applicants are physicians, scientists, medical students and other healthcare providers currently in residency or fellowship or no more than three years out of training as of April 10, 2027 (extended to four years if >3 months family or sick leave); submissions are made via the YIA Submission Site during the 2027 cycle (early July–mid-August 2026), and questions may be directed to awards@acc.org.
