ADA Foundation Crest and Oral-B Promising Researcher Award

About this program

The ADA Foundation offers two $5,000 awards: the Crest and Oral‑B Promising Researcher Award to support promising investigators in preventive dentistry and the Dr. David Whiston Leadership Award to cover tuition and related costs for approved leadership programs (including American Management Association courses). The Promising Researcher Award supports basic, translational, or clinical oral health research and is open to degree candidates enrolled in eligible programs (D.D.S./D.M.D., D.D.S./D.M.D.-Ph.D., advanced dental education, Ph.D. or equivalent, M.P.H./M.S. or foreign equivalents) to attend scientific conferences. The Whiston Award is available to dental students, dentists (including those pursuing graduate studies), dental residents in accredited programs, or early‑career dentists within ten years of graduation, with selection based on demonstrated leadership advancing the profession. The Promising Researcher RFP is expected to open in Spring 2026; the Whiston Award application is open through July 6, 2026.
