About this program

Albuquerque Community Foundation's Annual Grant Cycle pools distributions from over 90 endowment funds to award grants to nonprofits serving residents of the Greater Albuquerque Metropolitan Area (Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, Valencia) across seven fields of interest—Animal Welfare, Arts & Culture, Education, Environmental & Historic Preservation, Economic & Workforce Development, Human Services, and Health—using a single application and one review round. Applications are submitted during a two‑month window (dates posted on ACF’s grants pages), with a published scoring rubric and applicant support (Coffee Chats); a rolling "Need to Know" stream accepts year‑round requests (suggested $5,000–$10,000) and may consider organizations not selected in the Annual Cycle. Eligible applicants are nonprofits with at least three years of existence that demonstrate a local presence and service in the eligible counties and must typically have annual operating budgets of $8 million or less—exceptions: Animal Welfare has no budget cap, and Health accepts only organizational dental programs regardless of budget (funded distributions restricted to dental programs).
