Allied Scientist Grant

About this program

The SIR Foundation’s Allied Scientist Grant supports graduate students and postdoctoral fellows conducting research outside clinical interventional radiology but relevant to the field’s future. Awards provide up to $40,000 over two years; institutional indirect costs, construction, and secretarial or office expenses are excluded. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution, devote at least 75% of their time to the project, and be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with limited visa exceptions. The trainee’s advisor or co-advisor must be an active SIR member and an interventional radiologist; final applications are due January 15, 2027, at 5 p.m. ET.
