Allied Scientist Training Grant

About this program

The SIR Foundation offers up to $40,000 for 24 months through the Allied Scientist Training Grant to support innovative, multidisciplinary, and translational research connecting basic or applied science with interventional radiology. Funding is intended for mentored graduate-level or postdoctoral research conducted outside clinical IR training. Applicants must be graduate students or postdoctoral fellows at accredited institutions in the United States or Canada, devote at least 75% of their time to the project, and have an active SIR-member advisor or co-advisor who is an interventional radiologist. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with limited visa exceptions; clinical residents and fellows are ineligible, and applications are due January 15, 2027, at 5 p.m. EST.
