Anna C. & Oliver C. Colburn Fellowships

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America offers the Anna C. & Oliver C. Colburn Fellowships to support up to one year of study at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, with awards up to $9,000. Applications must be received by the AIA by December 15, 2026, and awards will be announced by March 1. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, current AIA Graduate or Professional members, and either at the pre‑doctoral stage or within five years of receiving the PhD. Awards are contingent on acceptance by the ASCSA (AIA materials are shared with its Admissions and Fellowships Committee), preference is given to applicants who are not ASCSA members during the application year, and recipients must submit a stipend report to the AIA and ASCSA and an abstract to the AIA Program Committee within two years.
