ASAB Education Grants

About this program

The Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB) offers Education Grants to enable primary and secondary school teachers to develop and test teaching resources on animal behaviour, providing five days' release from classroom duties to work with an academic member of the ASAB Education Committee and to access that academic's institutional library. Developed resources must be trialled in the applicant's own school or college and in at least one other institution, with the expectation that outcomes will be published in an educational journal, presented at an education conference, or made available on the ASAB website. Eligible applicants are primarily classroom teachers (occasionally non-classroom individuals may be funded if the resource is intended for classroom use); applications comprising a brief CV and a 200–300 word project outline describing how the project will aid teaching of animal behaviour should be sent to the ASAB Education Officer and are discussed at Education Committee meetings with deadlines for consideration on 1 April and 1 October.
