ASF Visiting Lectureships to Host Norwegian and Swedish Lecturers

The American-Scandinavian Foundation offers semester-long visiting lectureship awards for U.S. colleges and universities to host a Norwegian or Swedish lecturer, providing a $20,000 teaching/research stipend, a $5,000 travel stipend for outside appearances, and J‑1 short-term scholar visa sponsorship. Lectureships must address contemporary studies with emphasis in public policy, conflict resolution, environmental studies, multiculturalism, or healthcare. The competition is open to all American colleges and universities, and the lecturer must be a Norwegian or Swedish citizen who is a qualified scholar or practitioner relevant to the host department. Host institutions are responsible for selecting the lecturer, managing pre-appointment communications, arranging teaching, housing and local support complementary to the stipend, and ensuring the lecturer teaches one course and undertakes public and external engagements.
