Breuker Award (CAMWS)

About this program

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) offers the Breuker Award of up to $5,000 to support participation in a summer program, with funds applicable to program costs including transportation; applicants should state how any unused award would support future professional growth. Eligible applicants must be current CAMWS members with continuous membership for the two preceding years and must have submitted an application to the named summer program. The online application requires contact and academic information, CV and transcripts, details of current and previous teaching positions and courses taught, program name/URL/description and verification of application, proposed budget, list of other awards applied for, a 500-word teaching self-evaluation, a 500-word statement of relevance, and a formal headshot. Three recommenders are required (one former college classics faculty member and two teaching supervisors), files must meet size/type limits, and incomplete submissions—including missing letters—may be ineligible.
