BSP Clinical Fellowship Award

About this program

British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry offers the BSP Clinical Fellowship Award of up to £4,000 to support clinical training in periodontology or related implant dentistry activities with clear educational benefit (e.g., travel to BSP‑recognised centres, courses or conferences, or other demonstrable educational outcomes); funds may not be used for clinical equipment, routine living costs, or specialist tuition fees. Applicants must be BSP members and are typically junior hospital staff, junior academic staff, or self‑funding periodontology trainees enrolled in GDC‑recognised UK postgraduate specialist training; applicants will normally have been clinically qualified for less than 10 years unless a valid reason is provided. Applications for past events are ineligible; successful applicants must submit receipts to claim funds, provide a brief written report within six months, and recipients are barred from reapplying in subsequent years or from applying for more than one BSP prize in the same year. To apply, email intent via the BSP website to the Honorary Secretary for submission details and provide a proposal (max 3 pages), short CV (max 2 pages), and scanned signed Head of Department support letter by the 1 January deadline; awards are announced at the Society AGM.
