Capacity Building in International Dementia Research Grant

Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and the Global Brain Health Institute at UCSF, the Capacity Building in International Dementia Research Program supports sustainable dementia research infrastructure in eligible low- and middle-income countries. Funding may support training, culturally appropriate tools, databases, personnel, community outreach, workshops, and protected research time, but not traditional research studies, facility construction, or major equipment over $10,000 per item; awards may run three to five years with total costs up to $1 million. Applicants must be institutions in eligible LMICs, and the Project Lead must be a full-time faculty member or paid employee whose institution has active or recently completed research funding on which the proposal builds. Letters of intent are due June 3, 2026, and full applications are due September 2, 2026, by 5 p.m. ET through ProposalCentral.
