Celiac Disease Foundation’s Jocelyn Silvester Rising Villus Student Research Award funds a mentored 10-week celiac disease research experience at sites in the US, Mexico, and Canada to encourage promising medical and graduate trainees into the field. Eligible applicants are MD, PhD, or MD/PhD students and residents in good standing at accredited US or Canadian programs who must secure a committed mentor with a track record of independent peer‑reviewed research and prior trainee supervision; applicants may not hold similar awards. Applications require a mentor biosketch and a ≤3‑page mentor letter outlining supervision and resources, plus a ≤5‑page research proposal (background, aims, methods, analysis) and a ≤100‑word statement of contribution to celiac disease knowledge. The award provides a $5,000 stipend payable to the institution ($2,500 at announcement, $2,500 after approval of the final report), funds are for salary support only, mentors may request up to $1,000 for hosting costs, and recipients must submit a final report, participate in follow‑up surveys, and acknowledge the award in any resulting outputs.
