About this program

The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy offers three annual Charles J. Gelso, Ph.D., Psychotherapy Research Grants of $5,000 each to support empirical research on psychotherapy process and/or outcomes. Funding is intended to advance psychotherapy research, encourage emerging researchers, and support psychologists conducting high-quality studies. Eligible applicants include Society members who are graduate students, predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, or doctoral-level researchers with promising or established publication records. Applications are due March 1 and must include a research proposal, research-focused CV, biosketch, timeline, budget without indirect costs, and, for trainees, mentor materials and recommendation letters.
