Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy (APA Division 29) offers the annual Charles J. Gelso Psychotherapy Research Grants to support empirical research on psychotherapy process and outcome, awarding three $5,000 grants paid as a one‑time lump sum. Awards are paid to the investigator, their university grants office, or an incorporated company; indirect costs are not allowed, funds must be transferred by December 15, recipients must complete an IRS W‑9 and will receive a 1099, and unspent funds must be returned after two years with a full accounting within six months of project completion.
