Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

About this program

Funded by the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, the two-year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship supports general psychiatry residents pursuing careers in child and adolescent psychiatry through mentorship, professional development, APA meeting participation, and leadership opportunities. Up to 20 fellowships may be awarded annually, with the 2027–2029 program running from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2029. Applicants must be APA members in good standing who are at least PGY-1 or PGY-2 in an accredited U.S. or Canadian psychiatry residency program and have two years of training remaining, with a demonstrated interest in child and adolescent psychiatry. Applications require an online form, CV, 500-word personal statement, and three psychiatrist references, including one from the training director or department chair; the deadline is March 15, 2027.
