About this program
The Cosmos Club Foundation offers the annual Cosmos Scholars Prize, a $25,000 award recognizing outstanding recent Ph.D. graduates from Washington, D.C.–area universities and honoring them at a reception at the historic Cosmos Club where winners present their doctoral research. Awards span Arts & Humanities, Biological/Biomedical, Computer Science & Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Social Sciences & Economics. Eligible applicants are recent Ph.D. recipients from participating D.C.-area institutions (e.g., Georgetown, George Washington, Johns Hopkins SAIS, Howard, University of Maryland, among others). Recipients are selected for originality and the potential of their work to drive innovation in their fields.
