Dissertation Year Fellowships

About this program

The Truman Library Institute offers up to two $25,000 Dissertation Year Fellowships annually to support doctoral students completing dissertations on Harry S. Truman’s public career or the Truman era. Funds are intended to release fellows from teaching or other employment, with preference for projects based on extensive Truman Library research; residency is not required. Applicants must submit a CV, dissertation prospectus or introduction, completion schedule, university policy statement regarding fees and benefits, and two references, including the dissertation advisor, by February 1, 2027.
